John Manwarring, has a longstanding association with racing motorcycles and the motorcycle trade. John raced Honda CBX1000's, Suzuki Katana and Kawasaki Z1R when these bikes were new. He returned to road racing in 1994 aboard his original Z1R and after placing third, modified it to bring up to spec with the rules and the next year won the NSW Forgotten Era title. John then campaigned an ex Peter Jackson Yamaha YZF750 Superbike until an untimely accident at the Australian TT race at Port Kembla meant that John had to hang up his leathers for a few years. He returned to the track in 2007 to partner Simon and James in the St George 5 hour endurance race at Wakefield park. More recently, the boys took out second in the production class and fifth outright at Oran Park for the last ever 6-hour riding this R1 below.
